Spokes & nipples

To build all Falcon wheels we use spokes from the Italian manufacturer – Alpina.

Spokes made of 302 steel, which in terms of tensile strength and durability is higher than 304 steel, from which other steel spokes available on the market are made.

Spokes

For our road wheels we only use Alpina Ultralight flat aero spokes or Alpina Carbolite carbon spokes.

Gravel wheels come standard with butted, round Alpina Extralight spokes. Flat Alpina Extralite or Alpina Ultralite spokes are also available.

The MTB wheels come standard with butted, round Alpina Ultralight spokes. Alpina Ultralight flat spokes are also available.

For Enduro and E-MTB wheels we only use Sapim Race round spokes.

Nipples

To lace all Falcon wheel models (except road wheels with carbon spokes) we use 16mm long Sapim double square secure lock aluminum nipples.

Double square means that the nipple can also be operated from the inside of the rim. This allows us to tighten the spokes appropriately without fear of damaging/working the nipple.

Secure lock is a patented system from Sapim that prevents unwanted unscrewing of nipples during wheel use.

Unlike glue, it does not cause problems with wheel centring over the years.
